Can I use
Macintosh and Windows versions of syncVUE together in a session ?
Absolutely.
Operationally, the programs are identical, save for the normal
differences between Mac and Windows programs that one expects (using
the Command key as opposed to the Control key for example).
Can I install
syncVUE on more then one computer?
Yes. You may
download, copy and install as many Mac and Windows versions of
syncVUE as you like. Most of our customers install copies on their
laptops, desktops at work, at home - you name it. They even point
their clients or associates to our download section so that they too
can be ready to participate in group review sessions.
If I own multiple
syncVUE licenses, can I let my clients use them?
Yes.
The syncVUE
licenses that you purchase from us are yours to keep forever, but
with syncVUE's "floating" licensing system, you can assign licenses
to your clients anytime you wish via syncVUE's built in "License
Manager".
Is syncVUE a
streaming media player?
No, syncVUE does
not stream media, but syncVUEpro does allow media to be viewed
immediately via a progressive download while viewing the media.
How do I get my
media to others in my session?
It's easy!
If you're the creator of the content, simply enter your FTP info
into syncVUEpro's Transfer Manager, select the media files to upload
and click START. SVP will keep track of where the media "lives" and
the login FTP info required to go fetch it. So (for example), if
you're in a remote session with a client and you load one of your
media files into the player, the client will automatically being
viewing and downloading the media without ever having to know where
it came from!

What types of
media files does syncVUE support?
Generally
speaking, any file that QuickTime can handle can be played back by
syncVUE,
though we're quite partial to H.264 (AVC). We'll be publishing some
specifications at NAB with our recommendations for codecs, scaling
and GOP sizes to ensure the best performance for your needs.
Can I use
audio files with syncVUE?
Yes! You
have all the same capabilities that you have with video media, you
just won't see any moving pictures! You can also use most still
image file formats like JPEG, GIG, BMP, TGA, TIFF, PSD, etc.
Is there any
restriction to aspect ratios and screen sizes for movies?
Again, as a
general rule, if QuickTime can play it on your computer - you
can use it in a
syncVUE session.
Ultimately you will be limited to what your CPU and video card can
handle.
How fast a
connection to the internet do I need to properly run syncVUE?
A DSL or
cable modem will provide plenty of bandwidth for a successul
session. Dial-up is out of the question!
Can I talk with
syncVUE participants via the integrated SKYPE function while
collaborating on movie files?
Yes, but your
computer must meet certain
minimum specifications to host BOTH VOIP
(voice over internet) calls and a syncVUE session.
