Intelligent Gadgets
Announces Imminent Release of v2.0 syncVUEpro, Currently in Public
Beta
LOS ANGELES, CA – June 20th, 2007 – Intelligent Gadgets, the
creators of advanced collaborative digital review and approval tools
announced today that syncVUEpro (shown for the first time at NAB) is
due for release soon.
"Our target release
date for syncVUEpro was the beginning of June, but we delayed the
release to refine some of the features after receiving some valuable
feedback from a few of our beta-testers. The release date has been
pushed back to approximately the middle of July, but it will be well
worth the wait for all our existing customers."
All current syncVUE
users as well as all those who've expressed interest in the "pro"
version will be receiving emails soon with information on the new
release.
Intelligent Gadgets
Extends NAB 2007 Promotional Offer by Two Weeks
LOS ANGELES, CA – April 28, 2007 – Intelligent Gadgets, the creators
of advanced collaborative digital review and approval tools, has
extended their NAB 35% special offer on syncVUE with a free upgrade
to syncVUEpro for another two weeks due to popular demand and an
email server problem.
"When we offer
discounts on syncVUE the response is always huge and this special
offer was no exception, but about 700 of the emails we sent out to
people who swiped their cards at the show were never received by the
intended recipients due to a problem with
our "broadcast" email server. So we've decided to extend the offer by two
weeks in order give those people more time to take advantage of this
offer," says Michael Buday, President of Intelligent Gadgets.
Intelligent Wows at NAB
2007 Attendees with Debut of syncVUEpro
LOS ANGELES, CA – April 22, 2007 – Intelligent Gadgets, the creators
of advanced collaborative digital review and approval tools, enjoyed
a tremendous reception from NAB crowds to the preview of the next
generation syncVUE, named syncVUEpro.
"We've had a huge amount of feedback from our client base over the last ten months and
all those who stopped by the booth were able to see we've been
listening. Almost all the features our customers asked
for since the v1.0 release have been included in v2.0, now named syncVUEpro,"
said Michael Buday, president of Intelligent Gadgets."
Hundreds of current
syncVUE customers stopped by the booth and were in awe of the huge
number of productivity improvements in V2.00. Designed to make
managing and moving media easier then ever before, all of the new
features were extremely well received. "Our goal was to make the
whole process infinitely easier for all those who need to review
media, especially for those somewhat technically
challenged."
One of the major
hurdles faced by those creating content is how to push the content
to their collaborative audience - a director, a producer or a fellow
artist. In the previous version of syncVUE, everyone involved in a
session required a local copy of each media file
before a session could begin. With syncVUEpro, that's no longer the
case.
"With our new
Intelligent Playlists, all users have to do is let syncVUEpro push their content
to a web server that's accessible to their collaborators. When media
is added to the playlist from the web server, syncVUEpro retains the
location of the media and any security information (usernames,
passwords) required to gain access to it. However, the security
information is encrypted and never revealed to the session
collaborators if desired. When a syncVUE playlist is received from the creator
of the content, all the session recipient needs to do is double
click the media name in their syncVUE player. The media immediately
begins to play and download, but the person is never aware of where
the media resides."
Other new features
include a graphics markup layer, voice notes, built in FTP client,
publish to web as storyboard, improved interface design and many
others.
syncVUEpro is
targeted to be released in early summer and will be a free upgrade
to all current syncVUE customers. In addition, those who purchase
syncvUE v1.0 before the end of April will receive a 35% discount on
any number of syncVUE licenses, and will also be entitled to a free
upgrade to the "pro" version.

Intelligent Gadgets
Debuts syncVUEpro at NAB 2007
syncVUEpro Bolsters
Remote Collaborative Video Editing & Review Workflow; Adds Voice
Notes, Playlists, FTP Support, Graphics Layer and Support for Online
Web Video
LOS ANGELES,
CA – April 3, 2007 – Intelligent Gadgets, the creators of advanced
collaborative digital media review and approval tools, today
announced they will debut syncVUEpro -- a new and significantly
enhanced version of its flagship Skype-based media review tool --
during NAB 2007 next month in Las Vegas.
Building on the powerful collaborative media sharing capabilities of
syncVUE, syncVUEpro adds key capabilities critical to workflow
requirements of large production and post facilities, such as the
ability to review online QuickTime media, Intelligent Playlists, FTP
support, voice notations and a graphics layer.
The founders of Intelligent Gadgets will unveil syncVUEpro in the
Tiger Technology booth #SU14705 during NAB 2007 on April 16, 2007.
“syncVUE has touched an emotional chord among the production and
post house community – we’ve clearly anticipated their pain when it
comes to the collaborative review workflow. As a result of our
unique and surprisingly simple approach to remote collaborative
review, we’ve received tremendous feedback from customers on how to
make syncVUE that much more indispensable,” said Michael Buday,
president of Intelligent Gadgets. “syncVUEpro is the manifestation
of the feedback and requirements of some of the largest, most
respected facilities in our industry.”
Scott Templeton,
executive producer at Pie Town Productions, a television production
company specializing in reality and documentary programming, has
embraced syncVUEpro as a key tool in connecting the creative teams
between its Los Angeles and Chicago facilities. Templeton adds,
“syncVUEpro was clearly developed by experienced editors. Only a
fellow editor, someone who has lived the angst of the review and
approval process, could develop a feature-rich solution that not
only makes the collaborative review and approval workflow easier,
but actually make it more effective and efficient.”
New Features of syncVUEpro
Making its debut at NAB 2007, executives from Intelligent Gadgets
will highlight syncVUEpro and its innovative new collaborative
enhancements, including:
-
Synched Online Video Access: syncVUEpro adds the ability to view
and collaborate with perfectly synched online video directly from
the Web, eliminating the need to forward or FTP media files to all
participants. Simply enter the URL location to the media file and
all participants in the session can immediately begin to watch and
review the movie.
-
Graphics Layer: Draw, make notes or annotations directly to the
shared media for all participants to see (and add to) in real
time.
-
Voice Notes: Record audio notes to add comments, recommendations
or ideas to recall later or share with a colleague not in the
session at a later date.
-
Intelligent Playlists: A new versatile database enables users to
track all assets (media files) wherever they may reside; on a
server, local or networked drive, or on the web.
-
Built-in Automatic FTP Synching: New built-in FTP function allows
media within a project to be automatically uploaded to multiple
FTP locations. Clients running syncVUEpro will automatically
receive media files as they become available – keeping everyone in
the project in-sync at all times.
-
Storyboard HTML Export: Printed video frames with graphics,
titles, notes and timecode can be exported as HTML files for
viewing locally or on the web.
syncVUEpro:
Enhancing the Professional Collaborative Workflow
syncVUEpro builds on the premise of the original syncVUE, also
extending the promise of powerful collaborative media sharing
capabilities to the digital media review and approval workflow
process. syncVUEpro also delivers:
-
A powerful media player with frame accurate collaborative control
enabled by SKYPE;
-
Ability to play any media file supported by QuickTime;
-
Ability to play Windows Media and MXF files (via a plug-in from
Telestream) providing compatibility with Sony’s Blu-ray based
XDCAM formats;
-
Audio/video chat, enabled by SKYPE and leveraging syncVUE’s
synchronized media playback capability;
-
Virtual Laser Pointer capability, enabling multiple participants
to simultaneously point to any visual element of the movie in
real-time during playback;
-
Ability to add time-code-based text annotations (markers),
automatically propagated to all connected clients;
-
Markers can contain titles and extensive notes for quick and easy
review and approval process;
-
Users can create annotations offline, reconnect to the session,
and have all annotations instantly inherited by the other clients;
-
Upon completion, markers can be exported to industry-popular
non-linear editing solutions, such as Final Cut Pro.
-
Advanced Licensing Management system enables customers to extend
temporary licenses to colleagues or clients for flexible,
hassle-free access to syncVUE.

Intelligent Gadgets and
Tiger Technology Partner at NAB 2007 to Provide VFX Artists with
Skype-Based Collaborative Workflow AB2007, Booth SU14705
syncVUE Integrates with
stoneGate to Enable Inferno, Flame, Flint, Fire, Smoke Artists to
Collaborate Remotely in Real-Time
LOS ANGELES,
CA – April 3, 2007 – Intelligent Gadgets (www.syncvue.com) and Tiger
Technology (www.tiger-technology.com) today announced a strategic
partnership in which the two companies have joined forces to provide
the visual effects design community with an innovative, efficient
solution for collaborating remotely on effects-laden video projects.
Leveraging Tiger Technology’s stoneGate virtual file management
system for visual effects artists with syncVUE, a Skype-based
collaborative video review and approval tool, this joint initiative
enables Autodesk inferno, flame, flint, fire and smoke artists to
collaborate remotely and in real-time on synched media files stored
on Autodesk Stone systems.
Executives from both companies will unveil this strategic initiative
during NAB 2007 on April 15 – 18, 2007 (booth #SU14705) in the South
Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
“syncVUE has transformed the review and approval process for the
professional editing community. It has also become clear to us that
the very same needs exist in the visual effects design community –
specifically, the need to get disparate colleagues and clients
together, from wherever they may be physically located to
collaborate on VFX projects,” said Michael Buday, president of
Intelligent Gadgets. “Tiger Technology is an innovator in providing
these artists unfettered access to raw images stored on [Autodesk’s]
Stone systems. Adding syncVUE to this innovation now provides
artists with a collaborative window into these effects-laden files,
and they can do this from any system, wherever they are and with a
simple Internet or LAN connection. It’s a breakthrough!”
“Tiger Technology and
Intelligent Gadgets share the same vision; to simplify, streamline
and optimize the collaborative workflow by leveraging innovative
technologies that save time, energy, and money for our customers,”
added Alexander Lefterov, chief technology officer and co-founder of
Tiger Technology. “syncVUE adds a new collaborative dimension to
stoneGate. The ability to not only view Stone files, but have
disparate colleagues viewing synched files, sharing their notes,
ideas and recommendations over a simple Internet connection adds an
entirely new value proposition for the review and approval workflow
and extends the value of stoneGate with deeper capabilities tailored
to the design community.”
syncVUE and stoneGate at NAB ’07
syncVUE is a SKYPE-based, collaborative digital media review and

designers. Conceived by seasoned editors and digital media industry
veterans, syncVUE addresses the inefficiencies and frustrations of
an oft overlooked component of the digital media workflow – the
client/editor review process.
Tapping the inherent cost efficiencies and collaborative benefits of
SKYPE, syncVUE combines an innovative frame accurate media player
with seamless, real time collaboration capabilities to create an
entirely unique workflow environment for digital media editors,
animators, directors, producers and advertising agencies. syncVUE
delivers a synchronized, shared media viewing experience with no
geographical limitations to any desktop – Mac OSX or Windows XP –
with an Internet connection.
stoneGate from Tiger Technology is a virtual file system that
enables raw image sequences stored on Autodesk Media and
Entertainment Stone file system to be manipulated using standard
graphics and animation workstations over a regular LAN connection.
Visitors to the Tiger Technology booth will see first-hand how
workstations connected to a network, with the combined capabilities
of syncVUE and stoneGate, can collaborate on perfectly synched,
visual effects laden image sequences pulled from a stone server –
all in real time.

October issue of Post
Magazine Highlights syncVUE
LOS ANGELES, CA
– November 4, 2006 – Intelligent Gadgets (www.syncvue.com), the
creators of advanced collaborative digital media review and approval
tools, announced today that Post Magazine's October issue features
some discussion about "Getting in Sync", and highlights syncVUE as a
tool for collaboration:
Using syncVUE by Intelligent Gadgets in Dana Point, CA, Fat Sand
and Cribb were able to collaborate on the developments of the
project. A QuickTime 7.0-based media player, syncVUE plugs into
SKYPE, a free downloadable VOIP (voice over Internet protocol)
service that adopts the user's SKYPE buddy list as its own. syncVUE
provides realtime, frame-accurate synchronization of media files in
any codec or resolution, as well as the ability to add timecode-based
annotations to appropriate frames. QuickTime video files are sent in
advance of online synchronization. "For us, one of the best aspects
of syncVUE is that we send the QuickTime video to our clients in
advance and then we both work offline to review the footage and make
annotations," said Claisse. "Then when we meet online using syncVUE,
the footage and our notes are automatically synchronized. This saves
a lot of time for everyone."
Creative Cow Magazine
Awards syncVUE "5 out of 5 Cows"
LOS ANGELES, CA – October 11, 2006 – Intelligent Gadgets (www.syncvue.com),
the creators of advanced collaborative digital media review and
approval tools, announced today that Creative Cow, the most popular
web portal for professionals in the video and film markets - has
awarded syncVUE it's highest honors in a review by Walter Biscardi
in the latest issue of the "Cow" magazine published today.
"This is the
most impressive tool I have ever seen for helping creative
professionals be more productive. It’s not a flashy plug-in or a
super computer or a multi-million dollar suite but it is a tool that
easily allows for collaboration of people — and that collaboration
is often the key to a great project. Developer Michael Buday
understands that and now, whether you’re across town or across the
globe, there is now a simple tool that truly fosters collaboration
on a grand scale. I’m giving this 5 out of 5 Cows, the highest
ranking we have. If we had a “Cow of the Year” award, I’d put in my
vote for syncVUE."

veteran of the post production world, I have lived the frustration
of time and energy wasted collaborating on projects with clients and
colleagues spread around the country – that experience was the
inspiration behind syncVUE,” said Michael Buday, president of
Intelligent Gadgets. “We’ve witnessed significant contributions to
the digital media workflow from the industry, but for editors, the
workflow doesn’t end when you render your project for delivery to
the client. syncVUE extends a seamless, synchronized shared media
